Basketball Recap: Raleigh-Egypt Comes Up Short

Raleigh-Egypt lost against Brighton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs fell 63-54 to the Brighton Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Pharaohs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Cardinals are ranked 119th).

Jayden McIntyre was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 14 to rack up 23 points for Brighton. Tyler Alston was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Raleigh-Egypt has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Brighton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Raleigh-Egypt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-75 loss against Munford on the 4th. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-31 defeat against Millington Central on the 4th.
