It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Mecklenburg had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Providence Panthers by a score of 3-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

In the three sets East Mecklenburg was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-13, 23-25, 25-15.

Jane Young paced East Mecklenburg's offense, picking up 16 kills. Young were helped by Sydney Leo and Mackenna Weisner, who contributed 16 assists each. Caitlin Fowler controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

East Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Providence, they dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, East Mecklenburg will head out to take on Northwest Guilford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
