Recap: Johnson County Trojans vs. Georgia Military College Bulldogs
The Johnson County Trojans's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged Georgia Military College out 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Johnson County has posted yet this season.
Johnson County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Benvonte Murray, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Cory King was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Georgia Military College's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Duke, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Griffin, who scored eight points.
Johnson County's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Georgia Military College, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnson County will take on Glascock County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glascock County is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Georgia Military College, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Wilkinson County at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Wilkinson County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
