It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Monsignor Farrell Lions can now relate to. They suffered a tough 35-13 loss at the hands of Iona Prep on Friday. Monsignor Farrell's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Although Monsignor Farrell took the loss, they still got scores from Mikai Gamble and Nicholas Souffrin.
Joey Gaston had a dynamite game for Iona Prep, rushing for 87 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 118 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.
Monsignor Farrell's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Iona Prep, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Monsignor Farrell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Iona Prep will take on Cardinal Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on November 18th. One thing working in Cardinal Hayes' favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
