Game recap: Taylor County High School Football Team wins against Hamilton County

PERRY, Fla. - the Bulldogs scored 34 points in the second quarter to secure a big 54-12 victory over Hamilton County (Jasper, Fla.) on Saturday.

Taylor County scored on a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown, a passing touchdown, a touchdown run and a passing touchdown in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, TC was up 34-6 at the half.

The Perry school expanded its lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.

Taylor County entered the contest giving up 25.9 points per game this year. TC held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Trojans well below the 21.5 points it had been averaging per game.



The loss comes after Hamilton County defeated Jefferson County 33-16 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for the Perry school, which lost to Fort White last week, 34-19. The loss snapped Hamilton County's two-game winning streak. The victory ended Taylor County's two-game losing streak.

Taylor County (5-5) will play a playoff game against Florida State University next week, while Hamilton County (4-5) will take on Bell also in a playoff game.
