Basketball Game Preview: Skyview Wolverines vs. Englewood Pirates

The Skyview Wolverines just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Englewood Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Skyview is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight games dating back to last season on Thursday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Wellington.

Meanwhile, Englewood didn't have quite enough to beat Pueblo East on Thursday and fell 42-39.

Skyview will have to contain Soren Singer as he made an impact in Englewood's last game. He dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Singer has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Jonah Singer was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Skyview's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Skyview was able to grind out a solid win over Englewood when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 44-37. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Singer, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards.
