Softball Game Preview: Morgan Park Mustangs vs. Simeon Wolverines

For the second straight game, Morgan Park will face off against Simeon. The Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Morgan Park is leaving town to face Simeon after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Mustangs took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost three in a row.

For Simeon's part, they got a massive performance out of Mia Holcombe, who scored three runs and stole ten bases while going 2-for-4. Those ten stolen bases gave Holcombe a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariyah Black, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, eight stolen bases, and three RBI.

Simeon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan Park only posted a batting average of .034.

Morgan Park came up short against Simeon in their previous matchup on Tuesday, falling 18-13. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
