Basketball Recap: Eastlake Falls Despite Big Games from Diego Diaz and Braeden Quigley

Eastlake played against Lake Ridge on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Despite the loss, Eastlake had strong showings from Braeden Quigley, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Diego Diaz, who put up ten points and three steals. Quigley is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Shaqir Pack went supernova for Lake Ridge, almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Pack continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Eze Nwakamma was another key player, to rack up 15 points and five rebounds.

Eastlake has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 23-10 record this season. The win (which was Lake Ridge's 14th in a row) raised their record to 34-2.

While Eastlake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
