Soccer Game Preview: Catholic vs. Cabot

The Catholic Rockets will take on the Cabot Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Catholic's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Little Rock Southwest with a sharp 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Catholic, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cabot's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bryant. While losing is never fun, Cabot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Bryant are ranked fifth).

Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. As for Cabot, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Catholic beat Cabot 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
