Volleyball Recap: John F. Kennedy Takes a Loss

If John F. Kennedy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of KIPP Somos Collegiate on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets lost 3-0 to the Saint Mary's Hall Barons on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rockets have suffered since November 4, 2024.

While John F. Kennedy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Saint Mary's Hall's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-12, 25-16.

Jasmin Hernandez paced John F. Kennedy's offense, picking up five kills. Hernandez got some help from Genesis Hernandez and her eight assists. Mia Briseno controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Saint Mary's Hall can attribute much of their success to Eleanor Pulis, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Pulis has posted since back in August of 2024.

John F. Kennedy now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
