Basketball Recap: Plainville Takes a Loss

Plainville was the 59-42 winner over Logan/Palco when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Plainville Cardinals took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan/Palco on Tuesday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rhett Kats was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 23 on his way to 28 points along with seven boards and four steals for Logan/Palco. Kats has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 19 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Ashmore, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 10 points and six rebounds.

Plainville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-1. As for Logan/Palco, the win keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainville will challenge Thomas More Prep-Marian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Logan/Palco, they will take on Triplains/Brewster at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Logan/Palco is facing Triplains/Brewster at the right time seeing as Triplains/Brewster is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
