Baseball Game Preview: Nash Central Bulldogs vs. Bunn Wildcats

The Nash Central Bulldogs will take on the Bunn Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Nash Central sitting on four straight victories and Bunn on 15.

Nash Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Rocky Mount. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Cox looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Bowen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Moss, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Nash Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mount only posted an OBP of .304.

Meanwhile, Bunn was able to grind out a solid win over East Wake on Friday, taking the game 4-0.

Bunn pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Nash Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
