Basketball Game Preview: Dakota Valley Panthers vs. Vermillion Tanagers

The Dakota Valley Panthers will head out to square off against the Vermillion Tanagers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Dakota Valley sitting on four straight victories and Vermillion on six.

Dakota Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Hamlin, who was ranked fourth at the time (Dakota Valley was ranked first). Dakota Valley walked away with a 63-55 win over Hamlin on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Vermillion escaped with a win on Saturday against Sisseton by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.

Dakota Valley's record now sits at 16-1. As for Vermillion, their record now sits at 15-3.

Dakota Valley came up short against Vermillion when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 69-56. Can Dakota Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
