Basketball Game Preview: Del Valle Cardinals vs. Dripping Springs Tigers

Del Valle hasn't had much luck against Dripping Springs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Del Valle Cardinals face off against the Dripping Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Del Valle is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Travis. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 712th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, Dripping Springs played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 65-34 loss at the hands of Lake Travis. The Tigers have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Del Valle's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Dripping Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 9-20.

Del Valle beat Dripping Springs 61-51 when the teams last played on January 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Del Valle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
