Softball Recap: Bridgeton Comes Up Short

Bridgeton had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it 11. They lost 19-0 to the Atlantic City Vikings. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Atlantic City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

For Atlantic City's part, the team relied heavily on Mia Marota, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Marota a new career-high. Jojo Mejia was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Looking ahead, Bridgeton will take on Wildwood Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Atlantic City, they will face off against Lower Cape May at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
