Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Tidehaven's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tidehaven had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Cotulla Cowboys. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Maleah Galvan was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Nash, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Tidehaven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .633. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tidehaven is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Cotulla, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.

Tidehaven will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cowboys: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
