Softball Recap: Central Academy Cougars vs. Parkwood Wolf Pack
After flying high against Monroe last Tuesday, Central Academy came back down to earth. Central Academy took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkwood Wolf Pack on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Wolf Pack recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Addison Crawford was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off seven hits. Crawford was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Emma Hunt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieryn Peters, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Even though they lost, Central Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.
Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Parkwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Central Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-2 victory against Lee Park Prep on the 24th. As for Parkwood, they will take on Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
