Basketball Recap: Meeteetse Takes a Loss

Meeteetse lost against St. Stephens back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Meeteetse Longhorns were outmatched by the St. Stephens Eagles and fell 71-31. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Meeteetse lost, don't look at Aiden Elliott. Despite the final result, he posted eight points and five steals. Meeteetse is 2-1 when Elliott posts three or more steals, but 3-5 otherwise. Will Hatch also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Meeteetse now has a losing record at 5-6. As for St. Stephens, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6.

Meeteetse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-37 defeat against Burlington on the 6th. As for St. Stephens, they have also already played their next match, a 60-48 win against Ten Sleep on the 31st.
