Woodland is 8-2 against Calais since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. Woodland has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Woodland is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since April 22nd on Thursday. They lost 17-7 to Penobscot Valley. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Howlers: they've now lost six in a row.

Houlton hit Calais with a 13-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils came up short against the Shiretowners, falling 20-4.

Ella Lewey was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Calais' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Woodland, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything went Woodland's way against Calais when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Woodland made off with a 17-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
