Basketball Recap: Joshua Walton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Calumet New Tech over Griffith

Calumet New Tech lost against Griffith back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Calumet New Tech Warriors took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Griffith Panthers. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calumet New Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Walton, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Johnny Hudson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Griffith's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jatin Flowers led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Flowers a new career-high in steals (three). Gianni Feaster was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Calumet New Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Griffith, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Calumet New Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-38 loss against Andrean on the 27th. As for Griffith, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-39 defeat against Lafayette Jefferson on the 27th.
