Baseball Game Preview: Munroe Bobcats vs. Jefferson County Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats duke it out with the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munroe comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Things were looking good for Munroe after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Jefferson County by a score of 8-7.

For Jefferson County's part, Matthew (Britt) Jimenez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Jimenez has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Jefferson County's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Munroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
