Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Grant

Grant came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Reed City Coyotes as they made off with a 12-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 on Monday.

Rory Fish made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Gavin Kiliszewski was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Gragg, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Grant's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Reed City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Grant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Coyotes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
