The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shafter, who took down 429th ranked Shafter, 50-6.
Arvin moved up to 408 from 481 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in South Sequoia. The Bears were able to make move up by defeating the Generals 50-6.
Steven Gee was the best wideout in the league this week as Taft lost to Wasco. Gee racked up five receptions for 114 yards. Zack Brown helped Taft's passing attack out by catching four balls for 44 yards.
Isaiah Sharp was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 328 yards on 20 carries as the Tigers fell to the Tigers. Terrance Grinner also contributed to the rushing game with 192 yards on the ground.
Jake Thompson put up the best numbers through the air as Bakersfield Christian defeated South. He finished with 13 completions for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Thompson's favorite target this week was Donald Harris, who caught five passes for 54 yards.
Taft's Vaughn Richardson and Gee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading South Sequoia in both passing and receiving yards. Richardson has thrown for 1317 yards this season, while Gee, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 43 catches for 926 yards. Wasco's Sharp leads the league in rushing yards with 1384.
Gee of the Jarudd Prosser's team's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 74 receiving yards in this week's game against the Eagles to get there.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Arvin takes on Russ Prado's team. Edgar Mares' team is currently in fourth, while the Tigers are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Bears take on Wasco. Arvin has allowed 134 points this season, while the Tigers have given up 71. The Bears allowed 6 points last week as they bested Shafter.
Wasco extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Wildcats, 49-10. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
