Volleyball Recap: Elmwood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Elmwood was the 2-0 winner over Mercer County when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Elmwood sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-27, 25-18.

Gianna Ramirex paced Elmwood's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ramirex got some help from Payge Ryan and her 31 assists. Lia Hulslander controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Elmwood's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Mercer County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season.

Elmwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Delavan on the 9th. As for Mercer County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Mendota on the 11th.
