Baseball Game Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers

Kennedy is on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Wheat Ridge an 11-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Kennedy Commanders will host the Wheat Ridge Farmers at 12:00 p.m. Wheat Ridge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Kennedy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, Kennedy turned things around against Thornton on Friday. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 8-4.

Vincent McHone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Kalani Market was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Marcelo Nevarez, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wheat Ridge lost 19-4 to Mountain Range on Thursday.

Wheat Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Trione, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The win got Kennedy back to even at 1-1. As for Wheat Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
