Softball Recap: Woodinville Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Woodinville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Newport - Bellevue on Wednesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Knights. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Woodinville got a massive performance out of Addisen Hagen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Hagen a new career-high. Jane Ford was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Woodinville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newport - Bellevue only posted an OBP of .440.

Woodinville is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Newport - Bellevue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodinville will challenge Redmond at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 3.6, the Mustangs 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Newport - Bellevue, they will square off against Cedarcrest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
