Football Recap: Jersey Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Harrisburg last Friday, Jersey came back down to earth. The Panthers were beaten by the Highland Bulldogs 62-27 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 111th).

Andrew Koenig threw for 111 yards and one touchdown. Quincy Desherlia was his top target, picking up 99 receiving yards.

Highland was led to victory by Carter Harris and Blake Gelly. Harris gained 349 total yards, while Gelly threw for 179 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Jersey's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Jersey didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-16 defeat against Mascoutah on the 26th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 42-22 loss against Triad on the 26th.
