Basketball Recap: Naples Classical Takes a Loss

Naples Classical played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Imagine School at North Port Sharks 83-42. The Academy were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-26.

Imagine School at North Port got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zahmir Jackson out in front who went 9 for 21 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The game was Jackson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennen Taft, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Naples Classical's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Imagine School at North Port, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Naples Classical will head out to square off against Everglades City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Imagine School at North Port, they will welcome Bradenton Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
