Softball Recap: Rosman Wins Going Away Against Avery County

Rosman barely beat Avery County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-1 victory on Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kiki Sexton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Savannah Green, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Shelby Cloutier was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

The victory got Rosman back to even at 7-7. As for Avery County, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosman will welcome Mountain Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avery County, they will be playing at home against Happy Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
