Football Recap: Midfield Patriots vs. Oakman Wildcats
Midfield had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Oakman Wildcats and fell 50-22. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Midfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jaden Posey. Another thorn in Oakman's side was Quazion London, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.
As for Oakman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Tyler Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 355 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Those 355 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Ledger Martin helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.
Midfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakman, they will face off against Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
