Basketball Recap: Greater Cabarrus S's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against NC H last Friday, Greater Cabarrus S came back down to earth. The Greater Cabarrus S Stallions fell just short of the South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars by a score of 57-54 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Stallions have suffered since November 15, 2024.

Greater Cabarrus S lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Teddy Helton III, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Arrowood, who had 11 points.

Greater Cabarrus S's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Cabarrus S will welcome Chatham HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Guilford HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DASH at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in South Guilford HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
