Softball Game Preview: Lansing Bobcats vs. Chenango Forks Blue Devils

The Lansing Bobcats will challenge the Chenango Forks Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lansing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

Lansing will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Notre Dame on Wednesday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 16-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won three in a row.

Reagan Chalupsky was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Chalupsky was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Kennedy Perine was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Piper Mason was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Chenango Forks fell victim to Owego Free Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the River Hawks. The Blue Devils have struggled against the River Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Lansing's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Chenango Forks, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
