Baseball Recap: Camden Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Camden extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 11-10 in the process. Everything went their way against the Hartsville Red Foxes as they made off with a 9-1 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Thomas Bishop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Bishop was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brady Furniss was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mac Mellichamp, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

As for Hartsville, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-4 record. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Hartsville's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Atkinson, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camden will challenge Dreher at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hartsville, they will face off against Darlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
