Basketball Game Preview: Deering Rams vs. Bonny Eagle Scots

The Deering Rams will square off against the Bonny Eagle Scots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Deering has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 21.

On Friday, Deering had to suffer through a 58-26 loss at the hands of Marshwood. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Hawks are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-18, which was the final score in Bonny Eagle's tilt against Sanford on Friday. The Scots have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Deering's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Bonny Eagle, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-13.

Deering couldn't quite finish off Bonny Eagle in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 33-30. Can Deering avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
