Football Recap: Ferguson Skates Past Coral Gables with Ease

Ferguson barely beat Coral Gables the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Cavaliers 31-0. The Falcons have beaten the Cavaliers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cavaliers has come to flipping the script.

Arianna Madsen went supernova, throwing for 178 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of her passes. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (136).

Ferguson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Emely Naranjo and Evelyn Naranjo were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece.

Ferguson's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Coral Gables, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Ferguson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 32-6 loss against Palmetto on the 4th. As for Coral Gables, they will host Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cavaliers 12.9, the Bulls 3.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
