Softball Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. Sumter County Panthers
Hardaway lost against Sumter County back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hardaway Hawks lost 19-5 to the Sumter County Panthers. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hardaway got a massive performance out of Kei'Mayah Neal, who went 1-for-2 with a home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Huff, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Huff wasn't the only one working in the home runs department: Hardaway lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Hardaway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Sumter County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.
Hardaway will square off against Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hardaway is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Sumter County, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Shaw at 5:30 p.m.
