Basketball Recap: Jupiter Christian Takes a Loss

Jupiter Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why Jupiter Christian lost, don't look at Matthew Barrett. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. What's more, Barrett also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jake Becker, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Trinity Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paul Morency led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. Carter Kuzmin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards.

Jupiter Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Jupiter Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Edward's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Edward's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will host Boynton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
