Baseball Recap: Nacogdoches Comes Up Short

Nacogdoches was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marshall Mavericks. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mavericks from their previous meeting back in April of 2019.

Nacogdoches saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Allen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in RBI.

Nacogdoches' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Marshall, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Looking ahead, Nacogdoches is taking a road trip to square off against Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall, they will square off against Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
