Basketball Recap: Caiden Wisnieski Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Lathrop Spartans beat the Livingston Wolves 57-51.

Lathrop got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caiden Wisnieski out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wisnieski a new career-high in points. Joseph Perkins was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 19 points.

When it comes to explaining why Livingston lost, don't look at Adrian Aguirre. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayshaan Bains, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

Lathrop is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Livingston, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Lathrop wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-47 win against McNair on the 18th. Livingston has also already played their next game, a 53-51 loss against Hilmar on the 20th.
