Basketball Recap: South Umpqua Comes Up Short

South Umpqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 39-31 loss to the Siuslaw Vikings. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

South Umpqua's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Siuslaw, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.

South Umpqua has already played their next game (against St. Mary's), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Siuslaw also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Toledo.
