Softball Recap: Lee Williams Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cactus Shadows, Lee Williams was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Mingus Marauders 8-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Volunteers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Sami Marshall was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sienna Dooley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lee Williams' victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Mingus, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Lee Williams will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mingus: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
