Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Ryken Knights vs. Elizabeth Seton Roadrunners
St. Mary's Ryken and Elizabeth Seton squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but St. Mary's Ryken had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roadrunners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on October 6th.
St. Mary's Ryken started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-12.
Alex Campbell paced St. Mary's Ryken's offense, picking up 13 kills. Campbell really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
St. Mary's Ryken's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Elizabeth Seton, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
