Softball Recap: St. Anne Takes a Loss

St. Anne extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Illinois Lutheran Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 on Monday.

As for Illinois Lutheran, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Illinois Lutheran's part, Lola Spada was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Azaylia Sanchez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

St. Anne didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Beecher on the 6th. As for Illinois Lutheran, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-8 victory against Momence on the 6th.
