Baseball Game Preview: Sandy Pioneers vs. Reynolds Raiders

For the second straight game, Sandy will face off against Reynolds. The Pioneers will square off against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Reynolds' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Sandy was able to grind out a solid win over Reynolds, taking the game 6-2. The victory continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Brayden Sievertsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Cooper Hibbs was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kobe Sparks, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Sandy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Reynolds is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. As for Sandy, their record now sits at 6-2.
