Baseball Recap: Eunice Takes a Loss

If Eunice was riding high fresh off their 24-5 takedown of Texico on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Loving Falcons by a score of 11-10 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Eunice got a good showing from Ethan Wilson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wilson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tysen Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Misa Brito, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Eunice's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Loving, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eunice beat the Falcons by a score of 10-0 later that day.
