Baseball Recap: Cedar Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Cedar Valley had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Orem Tigers by a score of 11-6 on Monday. This was payback for the Aviators, who suffered a 15-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cedar Valley got a big performance out of Ashton Pincock, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Pincock is becoming a predictor of the Aviators' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-15 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brody Blodgett, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Cedar Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cedar Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Orem, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Cedar Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
