Preview: Rising Star Wildcats vs. Moran Bulldogs
The Rising Star Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Moran Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rising Star has six straight wins, Moran has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Rising Star can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 61-16 win over Panther Creek.
Meanwhile, Moran had to suffer through a rough 63-14 loss at the hands of Paint Rock. Moran was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.
Although Moran took the loss, they still got scores from Ellis Hise and Caleb York.
Rising Star's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Moran, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Rising Star came out on top in a nail-biter against Moran in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rising Star since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
