Volleyball Recap: Hickman Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rolla on Tuesday, Hickman came back down to earth. The Kewpies fell just short of the Blair Oaks Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Kewpies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Hickman sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 16-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-10.

Natalie Brinkley paced Hickman's offense, picking up 15 kills. Brinkley got some help from Abby Duncan and her 20 assists. Jaiden Moore controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hickman's loss dropped their record down to 10-12-1. As for Blair Oaks, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 13-18 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hickman will venture away from home to challenge Eldon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blair Oaks, they will head out to take on Owensville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
