Softball Game Preview: Riverbank Bruins vs. Linden Lions

Riverbank is 0-4 against Linden since February of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Riverbank has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Riverbank is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game on Tuesday. They lost 15-2 to Calaveras.

Briseida Felix made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins, Linden's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 8-4 to Summerville.

Nina Lagorio put in work no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Lagorio was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, Audrey Pitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Ava Isaacson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Riverbank's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21-1. As for Linden, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 14-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverbank has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Linden struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Riverbank might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Linden when the teams last played on April 7th. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
