Volleyball Recap: Salem Quakers vs. East Liverpool Potters
Salem unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the East Liverpool Potters on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-19, 25-17.
Abigail Knickerbocker paced Salem's offense, picking up 11 kills. Knickerbocker got some help from Macey Troy and her 22 assists. Knickerbocker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Among those leading the charge was Ayla Riggle, who had 12 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave her a new career-high.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will welcome Ursuline at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Liverpool, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
